A Menu That Let’s You Eat With Your Eyes

This week’s design challenge was to create a food menu.

I decided to create a menu that was more visual than a standard text-based menu because I know a lot of people who want to see what an entree looks like before ordering. This often requires a trip to Yelp in conjunction with viewing the menu. I decided to combine the two.

I also wanted to make the menu more pandemic-friendly by making it accessible on personal devices. Users can scan a QR code at the table and access the menu. They’re able to place the order and pay all without interacting with a person or object outside of the group.

Restaurants don’t need to worry about disinfecting or replacing menus, and waiters don’t have to interact directly with diners as often. Plus, no need for cash or credit cards to change hands.
